Princess Anne Public School, home of the Panthers, is a Kindergarten to Grade 8 elementary school with a student population of approximately 475 and a dedicated staff of 60. The school has been upgraded and renewed over the past 5 years. This includes a brand new two-storey addition of approximately 29 000 square feet which houses a new gymnasium, the Early Learning Program for 4 and 5 year olds, a music room, 10 new classrooms and a daycare run by Larch Street Kids.

Our building houses 17 regular program classes from Early Learning (4 and 5 year olds) to Grade eight and 4 Intensive Support Programs. The intensive support programs assist the learning of special needs students. The individualized programming in these classes provides students with opportunities to maximize their potential. Students in these programs are drawn from Sudbury Central, West End and South End areas.

Princess Anne Public School is a diverse and inclusive school community. Students have the option of taking French or Ojibwe as a Second Language (Grades 4 to 8). Further, we offer a wide range of learning resources and expertise to service students of all learning styles and special needs. We have a wide range of technology including Smart Boards, a mobile iPad lab and assistive technology. We pride ourselves in our ability to offer high quality special education programming.

Princess Anne Public School is also noted for its strong extra curricular programs in the areas of cross country running, volleyball, basketball, soccer and track and field.

At Princess Anne Public School we value family and community! We strive to offer many opportunities to involve families in order to build community in our school. Examples of events that we host are: Open House BBQ/Meet the Teacher Night, Fall Harvest Luncheon, Remembrance Day Ceremony, Student Led Conferences, Christmas Concert, Music Monday Celebration, Family Literacy and Numeracy Nights, Kindergarten Orientation, Honour Roll Evening and our annual full day Powwow!

Princess Anne Public School has developed a variety of initiatives and partnerships. We offer a full breakfast program daily sponsored through Breakfast Clubs of Canada, which is free for all students! We are proud to be offering full-day Daycare for toddlers and pre-school aged children through the Larch Street Kids Daycare. Further, Larch Street Kids also provides “Before and After School Programs” for 4 and 5 year olds in our Early Learning Programs and for students ages 6 to 12.

Our mission is to offer students many opportunities to build lives of leadership and purpose. Our school is committed to offering strong academic programming with a focus on the core areas of literacy and numeracy. We recognize the importance of character development and community responsibility. We strive to empower students to become critical thinkers, problem-solvers and moral citizens within a global economy through our diverse programming.
